One of my favorite recipes is taco soup. However it calls for packaged taco seasoning. Unfortunately, all of the packages in our local grocery stores include ingredients that are not included in my eating plan (gluten-free, dairy-free, no yeast). I found this recipe and made it as is. Worked perfectly!

Gluten-Free Taco Seasoning
Yields 1
This is a perfect substitute for Mccormick's Taco Seasoning, our perennial family favorite.

Ingredients
  1. 1 T chili powder
  2. 1/4 t garlic powder
  3. 1/4 t onion powder
  4. 1/4 t crushed red pepper flakes
  5. 1/4 t dried oregano
  6. 1/2 t paprika
  7. 1 1/2 t ground cumin
  8. 1 t salt
  9. 1 t black pepper
Instructions
  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl or a ziploc bag.
  2. Mix thoroughly.
Notes
  1. This is equivalent to one envelope of the store variety.
  2. Make multiple batches of this, one after another. Package each in snack-sized ziploc bags, then store for future use. Faster than getting out all of the spices again!
